All who play the War for Truth RPG are expected to follow the following rules. Failure to do so will result in action being taken against you or your account.
- All players must treat one another with respect. No racism, religious slurs, and no mockery. We are all here to have fun. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
- Do not advertise your website here without my permission. It is fine to advertise Sword of Truth based sites that you think we'll like, the SoT wiki for example, but if you want to advertise here, you must first private message me with a request. I may or may not then put an advertisement for you on our site.
- While roleplaying, do not 'cheat.' By cheat, I mean look at something in another person's post (for example, let's say they wrote that they poisoned your drink while you weren't looking) and then defend against it, despite the fact that your character wasn't looking. You can, for example, not have any of your drink, or have very little, but you cannot say "Aha! You poisoned my drink!" because you would not know.
- Do not create canon characters. This means no Richard Rahl, Kahlan Amnell, no Zedd, etc. I know that it would be fun to play as them, but I don't want to conflict with Terry's newer stories, and so I wish to focus on a point in time where he probably won't be changing anything, with characters of our own.
- Do not create a special character (a Mother Confessor, for example) if one already exists. While at the start of the roleplay we will need a Mother Confessor and First Councilor of Westland, and so on, once we have them we will not need any more.
- You may create up to five characters to roleplay with, as long as you can handle them all. Don't make more than you can handle.
- Do not autohit. This means automatically hitting someone else. Example: "Rahl jumped back out of the range of the sword, and he lifted his hand, sending a bolt of white-hot lightning at his enemy, whose blood splattered across the wall as he thudded to the ground, dead." Instead, go for: "Rahl jumped back out of the range of the sword, and he lifted his hand, sending a bolt of white-hot lightning at his enemy." It is up to your enemy if it hits, just as it is up to you if his attacks hit and unfair if you automatically hit him. The only exception is when fighting an army or a large group of 'soldier' characters.
- Do not use talents you do not have. If you wrote in your character application that you only have one side of the gift, then you are expected to only use that side of the gift. If you decide you want the other side, there are ways of which your character can learn, but you cannot just out of no-where have both sides.
- When creating a character, wait until it has been accepted by a moderator or myself before posting with it.
