Serra strode down the hall, lined with columns on each side. The council would be in session behind the doors. It was good to be home.
As Serra and her fellow rogue confessors drew near doors the dozen guards formed rank in front of them. She smiled, the pitiful resistance put up by the home guard was admirable but quite pointless against her confessors, especially those few with the gift. The soldiers were flung apart by webs of air and the doors exploded into splinters before Serra as she stormed into the Chamber.
On the far side of the room the Council sat at a curved desk, shocked by the rogue confessors rampaging through chamber, killing those in their way. Serra was mildly surprised to see the new Mother Confessor overlooking the council, she must have been appointed overnight, still, it didn't really change much though. She held up a hand, halting her Confessors.
"Councillors, the current regime is weak, the Confessors and Wizards are too afraid to assert their power over the Midlands, and it is suffering for it. I give you a choice, swear allegiance to me or be confessed. Mother Confessor, you and your confessors are hereby charged with treason against the Midlands. You will command them to relinquish themselves into custody where they will await trial. Those who plea guilty and swear allegiance to the new regime will be spared."
Serra waited for the Mother Confessors response.

Zephyr stood transfixed, not sure what to think. She almost had the notion that she had no idea what to do, but she had been informed there would be an attack on the palace, so she came to this meeting prepared. She looked to rest of the council to guage their responses. She snapped her fingers whistled. The doors behind her flung open and wizards and confessors starting flooding into the council chambers. Zephyr obviously couldn't call upon all the wizards, they had due to the need to protect the keep, but she had managed to rally a little over a dozen wizards.
"As the Mother Confessor I declare no such charge to be valid, as you Serra have no title to make those charges. Serra you were once a proud confessor of the Midlands, why cause all this trouble? I give you this one chance: stop this pointless rebellion. Rejoin the forces of the Midlands. Rejoin the confessors. If you refuse you are hereby yourself charged with treason and sentenced to death. What will your choice be Serra?"
While waiting for a response, the Wizards and Confessors behind Zephyr prepared themselves. If Serra refused then the Mother Confessor's sentenced holds, and they would be charged with carrying out the executions. Zephyr would not allow for any chances to be taken with trial.
Zephyr, herself stomach wrenching. This was awful, she hoped they would take her up on the offer, she didn't want to execute them. She knew it was what had to be done, but she nonetheless hoped that it was not going to be needed. Serra wouldn't take her offer. A battle was about to ensue and it wasn't going to be pretty

Serra laughed, unnerving those around her. The girl had a spine. She recognized quite a few of the wizards, she had confessed two of the personally when she had been younger. A slight touch from the confessor behind her indicated that they had company coming behind them. She had to end this, now. Her hand dropped down to the hilt of her blade. She nodded at the confessed wizards and twin ballsof lightning sprang from their hands, flying at the other other wizards gathered behind the Mother Confessor.

Collin and his escorts reached the door just in time to watch a woman with a sword go charging off at the Mother Confessor. He quickly realized it was infact the rouge Mother Confessor herself. She was unreasonable and rash, he couldn't let her sieze power here or the world would be doomed. As she reached the new Mother Confessor and raised her sword to deliver the killing blow Collin reached through Odin and using a thick web of air lifted the Mother Confessor like a ragdoll and flung her on to an upper level balcony. He hope she wasn't injured but, with imminent danger he had needed to act fast. He turned his attention back to the situation at hand and realized he couldn't tell the rouges from the Confessors, so he backed Knoxx and his two remaining guards down the hall and threw a shield over the door. "Emperor what do we do now?" Knoxx had his sword in hand, blood dripping from it. Collin had been so focused he hadn't realized he had been under attack. "We need to get back to that stair case and up to the balcony I tossed the Mother Confessor too." Knoxx nodded as they started down the hall.

Zephyr turned over completely discombobulated. She wasn't sure what had just happened. A moment ago she was threatening her invader and defending her home, and now she was on the upper floor balcony. She stood up, stumbling, to look over the balcony and with a wish of air she saw wizard's fire fly past her head knocking her on her back. She heard noises and voices in the hallway behind her and screams on the floor below her. This had gone so wrong. She needed to get out. She was no good to anyone dead.

The Confessors palace was a maze, and having never been here before Collin had no idea how to navigate it. They had been running for what seemed ages when Knoxx grabbed the sleeve of his robes as they ran past one hall pulling him to a stop. He turned to see what had caught his Generals attention and seen a woman in a white dressat the end of the hall. "Mother Confessor this way quickly!" He shouted down the hall at her, then realizing she may believe it a trap quickly added. "I know you may not believe me, but I am here to help." Rather than go charging off down the hall and scare here he walked at a normal pace. "Knoxx keep an eye on the halls behind us, I don't want any suprises."
