Sariah smirked "If he-" she stopped to point at Quelin so that there could be no mistaking her meaning. "recognized you, then others you don't know about might as well. Maliss had a good point, we should go in disguised, at least in the beginning." she added. She made eye contact with the confessor before saying anything else. "We have to assume our enemy is even more cunning and devious than we are, lest we run the risk of underestimating him."

"Then... I guess we had better start considering consistent pseudonyms... making up new ones constantly is a sure fire way of being caught..." He was only half in the conversation. He would let them say what they would from here, and then he was going to have to have a little chat with the Lord Rahl and Quelin.

Quelin sat still, silently listening to what everybody else was saying. Why were they so concerned? Sure, the midlands had oodles of troops to contribute. The question still remained: Would they break out of their selfish shells and help out for the greater good? Or would they cower away, keep their troops to defend themselves should rogue confessors attack? Quelin was betting on the latter. Still something seemed amiss. Alleister seemed off. He kept shooting him Quelin glances. Something was up and it was making Quelin a little uneasy. Though he knew much of what Alleister could do, he did not know every extent of his abilities. But had he the need to fight Alleister, there were ways to end it quickly though he'd rather it didn't come to that. He had a gut feeling something was going to happen. He didn't know what, but something was going to happen, and it didn't feel like it was going to be good.

Sariah stared at Aleister for a moment, it didn't take any kind of magic to know that something was bothering the strange wizard. Whatever it was though, she was certain it would involve magic, and though she was gifted, and very good with using what she had, that meant it was outside of her area of expertise. Disguises on the other hand, she'd had some experience with. "Names should be a secondary concern. It isn't likely that most of our names would raise any alarms. Though.. For you Lord Rahl... If the enemy is nearby and hears your name, any part of it.." she left the consequences unsaid. They all knew that one major mistake like that would lead to disaster.

"I would suggest that any of you who have had dealings of any kind with this enemy of yours chose a new name, keep it simple, and.. I really hope you have something else to wear.. Deneric..." she seemed to be slightly uncomfortable addressing him by name, but she pushed through hoping no one would notice. "That outfit may as well have a target painted on the back."

Rahl smiled and tugged at his gold-trimmed tunic. "What, this old thing?"
He reached for his pack, which was on the ground leaning against a nearby tree. "Fortunately, I always carry some... less assuming garments. As for the name... how about Alvor? I knew a blacksmith named Alvor once."

Quelin sat puzzled. The feeling in his gut still made him uneasy, so he kept his mind open for anything to arise. He turned to Aleister "Aleister there seems to be something bothering you. I can see it in your eyes. Would you care to share? And furthermore any of you assuming you can avoid detection by changing your name and wearing different clothes are only half fooling yourselves. Yes clearly you don't want to walk around in royal attire, this way you don't raise suspicion, and yes changing your name is a good way to keep people off your trail, but don't for a second think that anyone who isn't truly your enemy won't know your face. Anyone who means you legitimate harm will know exactly who you are. Now Aleister how bout that chat? Wanna tell me what's up?" He walked over to Aleister and placed a hand on his shoulder. "come on now. I don't bite." he motioned him towards a small clearing next to where they were settled. "Well i don't bite hard" he chuckled

"There are many ways to disguise one's face. Most of which our enemies would also know, and likely be watching for.. But i have a trick of my own design that would be perfect for this." Sariah said, purposefully ignoring Quelin as he tried to lead Aleister off. "As you may already know, my own Gift for magic is not all that strong in terms of raw power, but it is for that very reason that I have pushed myself to learn to make the most of it. Any wizard can produce an illusion, and possesses spells to see through illusion... but a layered illusion, perhaps, one of three layers.. They see through the first, possibly even the second.. but the third, the spell does not show them beneath that, so they take it for the real thing. "
She paused for a moment to take a breath. "The method for binding these illusions is of my own creation, and has not been used outside of where I was trained, though it was tested there extensively on my father... Who I must point out was quite powerful, if foolish." she gave a brief smile. "None outside of my former mistress, and now those in this camp would know of this spell. So it would be quite effective, this once."

Quelin smiled. "One moment Aleister. Finally a good idea. You're right, the illusions won't hold forever, nor will they be protective enough for everything, but they'll certainly help for those of us who need to keep identities secret. Point is, we need to get moving. We're not excessively far from Aydindril, and we need to get there soon. If we're going to have any hope in fixing these problems, we need the Mother Confessor on our side. Maybe if we help her deal with the rogue confessors first, then she'll be more willing to help us. But to do that we need to get there fast. Now Aleister, where were we? Ah yes, lets go have that chat."
